Compatibility and Ideal Use Cases
This crank bolt fits only specific crank models with M18 x 1.0 threading—namely Insight RLC cranks, Insight PL4 cranks, and 2025 Chase Edge Expert XL and larger size bikes with OEM alloy cranks. Not compatible with other crank brands or models. Verify your crank model before ordering, as using the wrong crank bolt can result in improper torque, crank arm loosening, or spindle damage.
Best suited for riders with compatible Insight or Chase cranks who want to reduce weight or replace a lost or damaged crank bolt. The aluminum construction saves grams compared to steel while maintaining adequate strength for proper crank retention when correctly torqued. Critical: Crank bolts are high-stress components—proper installation torque is essential. Use a torque wrench and follow manufacturer specifications to avoid under-tightening (which allows the crank to loosen and can damage the spindle interface) or over-tightening (which can strip aluminum threads or crack the bolt). Apply anti-seize compound to threads during installation to prevent galling and ensure accurate torque readings. Check crank bolt tightness regularly, especially after initial installation and the first few rides. Ideal for weight-conscious racers with compatible cranks, or riders replacing worn or lost crank bolts. Not a universal crank bolt—only use on specified Insight and Chase crank models.
