Description
S&M Race XLT Dub BMX Fork
Product Overview
The S&M Race XLT Dub is a racing-specific BMX fork engineered for use with 20mm thru-axle hubs. Built from double-butted, tapered chromoly with a one-piece CNC-machined steerer tube, it's designed for riders who need the strength and stiffness benefits of a thru-axle system. Heat-treated after welding for maximum durability.
Key Features
- 20mm thru-axle design – Requires 20mm thru-axle hubs; provides increased stiffness and more secure wheel retention compared to traditional bolt-on or quick-release systems
- Double-butted tapered legs – Chromoly legs are thicker at high-stress areas (dropouts and crown) and thinner in the middle to reduce weight; taper improves lateral stiffness and tire clearance
- One-piece CNC-machined steerer tube – Machined from solid 4130 chromoly bar stock eliminates welded joints in a critical stress area, improving strength and longevity
- 4Q baked post-weld heat treatment – Heat treatment process after welding restores material strength lost during fabrication, increasing overall fork durability and resistance to bending
- Laser-cut dropouts – Precision-cut dropout slots ensure accurate wheel alignment and consistent tolerances
- M24 x 1.5 threaded compression – Uses threaded top cap with 6mm allen key adjustment for secure stem preload without requiring a star nut
- 33mm offset – Standard offset provides predictable steering response and stable handling characteristics

Compatibility and Ideal Use Cases
Designed specifically for BMX racing and requires 20mm thru-axle front hubs. Works with non-integrated (external cup) headsets that include a standard bearing race. The M24 x 1.5 threaded compression system requires a compatible top cap. Available in both 20" and 24" wheel sizes to match different racing classes. The increased stiffness from the thru-axle design benefits riders who need maximum power transfer and precise handling through gates, berms, and jumps.
