Description
The Avian Versus Tapered Carbon BMX Fork (20", Matte Black) is for Pro and Expert XL riders on tapered head tube frames. The steerer widens from 1-1/8" to 1.5" at the base, adding stiffness where steering precision is generated.
Specs
- Steerer: 4mm-wall 7005 aluminum, tapered 1-1/8" to 1.5"
- Legs: Toray carbon fiber
- Dropout: 20mm alloy
- Wheel size: 20"
- Integrated M10 locking system: the bolt threads directly into the steerer, so there is no star nut or expander plug
- Matte Black finish
Fits frames with a tapered 1-1/8" to 1.5" head tube only. Frames with a straight 1-1/8" head tube need the Pro straight version. Use a tapered 1-1/8" to 1.5" integrated headset.
Torque
- Locking bolt: 4–5 Nm recommended, 5.5 Nm maximum. Overtightening strips the threads inside the steerer, which cannot be repaired.
- Use a torque wrench.
