Chase RSP 5.0 Frame Black / Teal

The Chase RSP 5.0 in Black / Teal is Chase's aluminum race frame, refined with feedback from Connor Fields, Joris Daudet and other pro riders. It is built from ultralight 7005-T6 aluminum with hydroformed, double and triple-butted tubes, runs disc brakes only, and has internal cable routing and enclosed dropouts with integrated chain tensioners. Sizes run from Mini to Pro XXXL on 20" wheels, plus OS20 and 24" cruiser frames.

Fitment

• Disc brakes only: rim brakes (V-brake, U-brake) will not work. A post mount or flat mount disc brake adapter is required. Elevn disc brake adapters (post and flat mount) were designed to work with this frame.
• Rear dropouts take a standard 3/8" (10mm) bolt-in axle, not a thru axle. Remove the axle bolts from the hub, insert them through the closed dropouts, then thread them back into the hub. Not compatible with quick-release or thru-axle systems.
• OS20 frames require an OS20 fork for correct geometry and front tire clearance.

Please note: Brake fluid on paint that is not silicone-based can act like a paint thinner and make the coating peel. Do not let brake fluid touch any part of the bike.

SpeedLite 7005-T6 alloy: chosen for the hydroforming process, giving the RSP frames core strength while keeping frame weight to a minimum.

Triple butting: three different wall thicknesses along the tube. Chase says this cut tube weight by 15% compared to the previous year's frame tubes.

Tapered tubing: multiple wall thicknesses in the same tube, reinforced where stress is high and lightened where extra material is not needed, for strength, lower weight and better fatigue life.

Hydroformed tubes: the flatter narrow axis carries more load across the minor axis, and the deeper axis is stiffer. Main flex areas are oval in both directions to reduce flex both ways.

Aero: aero seat post tube, seat post and clamp for improved aerodynamics and a slightly stiffer feel.

Muscle forming: chain stays and seat stays are muscle formed in a special mold to set the exact shape and thickness of the back end.

Disc brake: dropouts restructured for better clearance with a wide array of disc brake calipers and, like the RSP 4.0, built to take the extra force of a disc brake, compatible with both post mount and flat mount systems.

Bio Fit sizing: a wide range of frame sizes designed to give riders optimum power output across the size range.

Integrated tapered head tube: 1-1/8" upper to 1.5" lower. Run a tapered steerer fork, or a full 1-1/8" steerer with the 1.5" lower bearing when the headset has a 1-1/8" to 1.5" fork race option.

Press Fit BB tube: the bottom bracket you supply has its bearings in cups that press into the frame, so there are no BB threads to damage as with a traditional Euro BB.

Enclosed dropouts: fully enclosed 10mm dropouts with an extra long 2.3" (60mm) axle slot and a built-in internal alloy tensioner, so the full length of the dropout is usable.

Internal cable routing: from the head tube through the down tube and bottom bracket, exiting at the chain stay (bottom of the down tube on small sizes). Protects the brake line and graphics since the housing does not rub the frame.
