The Excess Mini Expert is a high-engagement cassette-style rear hub designed for 20" BMX race wheels. Built with a 3-pawl, 5-fin engagement system that locks into a 120-tooth ratchet ring, it provides fast engagement for explosive gate starts and instant power transfer. Features four sealed bearings and a lightweight alloy axle for reduced rotational weight.

• Alloy driver body – Lightweight aluminum freehub body accepts Shimano-compatible cassette cogs with included chromoly spacers (1.0mm and 0.5mm) for precise alignment

• Center Lock disc brake compatibility – Optional Center Lock adapter can replace the standard lock ring to mount disc rotors (adapter sold separately)

Accepts Shimano-compatible cassette cogs from brands including Excess, Elevn, and Shimano (cog sold separately). Best suited for competitive racing where fast engagement and low weight are prioritized for quick gate starts and sprint acceleration. Pairs with Excess 6mm Mini Chain Tensioner for proper chain tension adjustment (tensioner sold separately). Optional Center Lock adapter allows disc brake rotor mounting. Standard 10mm alloy axle fits most race frames with M6 bolt-on dropout configurations.
