The Excess XLS-2 is a complete wheelset designed for 20" BMX racing. Built with double-wall 6061-T6 aluminum rims and high-engagement cassette hubs, this wheelset delivers reliable performance for competition and training. Features a 3-pawl, 5-tooth engagement system with a 120-tooth ratchet for fast drivetrain response and is compatible with both V-brake and disc brake systems.

• High-engagement rear hub – 3-pawl system with 5 teeth per pawl locks into a 120-tooth ratchet ring, providing 3-degree engagement intervals for instant power transfer at gate starts

• Dual brake compatibility – Rear hub is configured for V-brake use out of the box and accepts optional Center Lock disc brake rotors for riders transitioning to disc systems

• Double-wall XLS rims – 6061-T6 aluminum construction with optimized profiles for front and rear applications balances strength and weight for race conditions

• Sealed bearing hubs – Cartridge bearings protect internal components from contamination and reduce friction for consistent rolling performance

• Chromoly freehub body – Steel driver accepts Shimano-compatible cassette cogs and resists wear from cog engagement under load

• Ready to ride – Complete with spokes, nipples, and rim tape; only requires cassette cog installation

Best suited for competitive racing in Mini, Expert, and Junior classes where fast engagement, low weight, and dual brake compatibility are valued. 451mm BSD rims fit standard 20" × 1 1/8" to 1 3/8" race tires. Center Lock disc brake adapter and ISO converter sold separately for disc brake conversions.
