Description
Heartbreaker BMX Frame Chris Harti Signature
The Heartbreaker is a USA-made trails-specific BMX frame designed by Chris Harti for high-speed, big-jump riding. It runs a long, low geometry with a mellow head tube angle, low BB height, and extended rear end — all deliberate choices for riders who prioritize stability and control at speed over technical street or park performance.
Key Features
- Butted Supertherm top tube — Butted tubing removes material from low-stress mid-sections while retaining thickness at weld points, reducing weight without compromising strength where it matters
- Straight gauge Supertherm down tube — Consistent wall thickness throughout the down tube provides maximum strength in a high-load area that takes significant impact force at trails
- Double gussets — Additional gusseting at stress points reinforces the frame against the repeated high-impact landings typical of trails riding
- Slightly tapered seat stays and single bend chain stays — Tapered stays absorb trail vibration and reduce overall rear-end weight while the single bend chain stay profile provides clearance and a clean classic aesthetic
- 2.4" tire clearance even when slammed — Full tire clearance is maintained regardless of seat height adjustment, preventing tire rub on oversized rubber commonly run at trails
- Double butted seat tube — Butted construction reduces weight at the seat tube while maintaining weld integrity at the top and bottom junction points
- Longer dropout slots with 4Q baked 14mm 3/16" dropouts — Extended slots provide more wheel positioning range to accommodate ideal gearing across 9, 10, and 11 tooth sprocket combinations; 4Q baking relieves post-weld stress for stronger, more consistent dropouts
- Welded-on chainstay brake mounts — Fixed brake mounts on the chainstay provide a more rigid and reliable brake mounting point than bolt-on alternatives, reducing flex under braking
- Thru-seat tube cable routing — Routes the brake cable internally through the seat tube, preventing the straddle hanger from contacting the down tube during riding — particularly relevant given the longer rear end length on this frame
- Double down tube cable guides — Dual guides keep the brake cable tracked cleanly along the down tube without rattling or shifting position
- Traditional slot seat clamp — No welded-on seat clamp keeps the aesthetic clean and allows use of a standard aftermarket clamp
- Engraved head tube logo — Engraved Heartbreaker branding on the head tube rather than a decal or sticker finish
- Made in USA — Domestic production with Supertherm tubing and 4Q baked heat treatment throughout

Compatibility and Ideal Use Cases
Built exclusively for trails riding and high-speed jump lines. The 74.5° head tube angle, 11.35" BB height, and extended rear end are not optimized for street or park use — this geometry is purpose-built for maintaining control and stability at speed on dirt. The longer dropout slots and included gearing chart make it straightforward to dial in chain tension across a range of sprocket and driver combinations without a half link. Seat post is 25.4mm — a less common size than 27.2mm, so confirm post diameter before purchasing a replacement. Brake cable routing through the seat tube requires a brake setup compatible with internal routing.
