Description
Ikon Pro 24" 20mm Tapered Carbon Fork
Product Overview
The Ikon Tapered Pro is a full-carbon fork designed for 24" BMX cruiser racing frames with tapered head tubes. Hand-laid from Toray UD carbon fiber with a 7075-T6 aluminum tapered steerer tube, it weighs 662 grams (without top cap) and features 20mm thru-axle dropouts. Developed and tested by pro riders Connor Fields and Joris Daudet, it combines aerodynamic crown design with integrated fork race and reinforced aluminum dropout inserts.
Key Features
• Toray UD carbon fiber construction – Hand-laid unidirectional carbon fibers in tapered fork legs and oversized crown provide maximum stiffness and impact resistance while minimizing weight
• 7075-T6 aluminum tapered steerer – High-strength aluminum steerer (6mm wall thickness) tapers from 1-1/8" to 1.5" and bonds into the carbon crown, providing compression resistance at the headset interface
• Integrated 45-degree fork race – Built-in bearing seat eliminates need for separate fork crown race installation, reduces weight, and ensures precise bearing alignment
• Reinforced 20mm aluminum dropouts – CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum inserts bonded and keyed into carbon legs provide durable thru-axle interface capable of handling pro-level racing loads
• Aerodynamic crown design – Oversized crown with aero spoiler-style rear profile and embossed fork leg features reduce drag and add visual distinction
• Internal steerer tube threads – Integrated threads accept M18 top cap/compressor bolt, eliminating need for star nut or compression plug
• Optional 10mm adapter compatibility – Accepts separately sold adapters to convert from 20mm thru-axle to standard 10mm or 3/8" bolt-on axles
• Matte natural carbon finish – Hand-laid process creates unique non-uniform carbon pattern that varies between forks, providing distinctive visual appearance

Compatibility and Ideal Use Cases
Designed for 24" BMX cruiser race frames with tapered head tubes (1-1/8" upper, 1.5" lower) and 45-degree headset bearings. Requires a 20mm front thru-axle (suggested length 114mm, sold separately—Excess 20mm front axle recommended). Best suited for Pro and Pro XL cruiser class racing where reduced fork weight, increased front-end stiffness from thru-axle mounting, and aerodynamic advantages improve performance. Developed and tested by world-class pro riders for elite-level competition. Optional 20mm to 10mm/3/8" adapters available for riders transitioning from standard bolt-on hubs. Not compatible with straight 1-1/8" steerer systems or standard 10mm bolt-on dropouts without adapters—verify frame head tube taper and headset bearing angle before ordering.
Note: 20mm front axle sold separately (Excess 20mm axle recommended, part EXHUPAXFBKBK). Optional 20mm to 10mm/3/8" adapters available separately (part IKFKADDOBKBK).
