Description

Product Overview

The S&M Cymbal R Hub Guard is a low-profile 14mm rear non-drive side hub guard designed to protect your hub and spokes during grinds. Made from heat-treated 4130 chromoly steel with S&M's 4Q-Baked finish for durability and corrosion resistance. Includes adjustment washers for universal fitment across different hub and frame combinations.

Key Features

  • 4130 chromoly construction with 4Q-Baked finish – Heat-treated steel provides impact resistance and prevents rust and wear
  • Low-profile design – Minimal profile reduces snag risk and maintains clean aesthetic while protecting hardware
  • Universal fit with adjustment washers – Included spacers allow proper alignment on various hub shell widths and dropout configurations
  • Non-drive side placement – Protects left side hub and spokes from grind damage without interfering with drivetrain
  • 14mm axle compatibility – Fits standard 14mm BMX rear hub axles

Technical Specifications

  • Axle size: 14mm
  • Position: Rear non-drive side (left side)
  • Material: 4130 chromoly steel
  • Finish: 4Q-Baked
  • Profile: Low
  • Fitment: Universal (includes adjustment washers)

Compatibility and Ideal Use Cases

This hub guard fits any 14mm rear BMX hub on the non-drive side (opposite the chain and sprocket). The included adjustment washers accommodate different hub shell widths and frame dropout spacing for proper alignment. Best suited for street and park riders who grind on ledges, rails, and coping where hub contact is common. The low-profile design allows smooth grind entry while protecting expensive hub components and spokes from damage. Install on the left side of your rear wheel unless you run a left-hand drive setup, in which case you'd need a drive-side guard instead.
