Description
S&M Race XLT Handlebar (11 Sizes from 7.5"-10")
The Race XLT series is S&M's evolution of the legendary Slam racing handlebar, built from thin-walled 4130 chromoly tubing with post-weld 4Q heat treatment. Available in eleven rise options from 7.5" to 10" in quarter-inch increments, featuring flatter sweep geometry optimized for racing. Made in the USA.
Key Features
- Thin-walled chromoly tubing with 4Q post-weld heat treatment – Thinner walls reduce weight while post-weld heat treating restores material strength lost during welding, maximizing strength-to-weight ratio for competitive racing
- 11 rise options in 0.25" increments – Precise sizing from 7.5" through 10" allows riders to dial in exact handlebar height for optimal body position and power transfer
- Flatter 8° backsweep – Reduced sweep angle compared to street bars positions grips more forward for aggressive, aerodynamic racing stance and maximum pedaling efficiency
- 29" width – Narrower than street bars to reduce wind resistance while maintaining adequate control leverage for gate starts and rhythm sections
- 4° upsweep – Moderate upward angle provides comfortable wrist position without excessive rise that would compromise aerodynamics
- 4Q Baked finish – Heat-treated coating adds durability and corrosion resistance to high-stress areas

Compatibility and Ideal Use Cases
Fits standard front load and top load stems with appropriate clamp diameter. Designed specifically for BMX racing where weight savings, aerodynamics, and precise fit matter most. The flatter 8° backsweep and 29" width optimize power transfer from gate starts through rhythm sections. Quarter-inch rise increments allow racers to fine-tune cockpit height based on body dimensions, gate starting preference, and track style. Best for competitive racing; street and park riders typically prefer wider bars with more backsweep for technical riding.
